AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her debut in professional football and was a part of the team's success in winning the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and one of the youngest players on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. She was able to finish 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and provide 20 assists within the same calendar year and making her the sixth and the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
