Anamaria Marina is an Romanian actor. Her first screen appearance was in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film, for where she was awarded the British Academy Television Award as the Best Actress. She speaks French, German, English as well as Romanian easily. Her mother was a violinist and her father is a professor of theater at one of the best Romanian acting schools. Winner of the Best Female Actor of the Year 2000 Award at The Young Actor Gala Mangalia. She was crowned European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in the year 2008. She also received several awards for her role in 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days, a Romanian film that was highly praised by London Film Critics as being the top movie of 2007. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 week si 2 zile (4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days) directed by Cristian Mungiu. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Also, she was in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. She was also in 2008 as Yasim Anwar in the BBC 5-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the film Fury (2014) in which she was Irma the German woman, who is Emma's aunt.
